Hi! I’m Sarah Booth, a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication. I served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of The Blue Banner and was a member of Amnesty International. I’m passionate about storytelling and building community.
After evacuating from the Hurricane Helene disasters in Western North Carolina, I co-founded a virtual book club to help women stay grounded and supported across state lines. I now run all communications and meetings for the group, which includes members across the United States from Vermont to Hawai'i. Am I also an alumna of Gamma Phi Beta (Epsilon Psi Chapter). In my free time, you can usually find me reading or planning a dinner party for my friends.
I am currently enrolled at Kirtland Community College, preparing for graduate applications. For work, I currently take on freelance communications projects, intern at Houghton Lake Community Schools in a clinical health counseling practicum, and assist in tutoring first graders at Grayling Elementary in literacy with America Reads.
From January 2024 to September 2024, I was awarded the opportunity to work with local regional government in Western North Carolina at Land of Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition as a part of the Department of Energy’s Accelerate program. At this internship I gained experience in email marketing and social media campaigns among other skills.
I am still committed to the idea that the ability to think for one’s self depends upon one’s mastery of the language.
